TB incidence in KZN showed a year on year decline from 2011 to 2017.

World Tuberculosis Day is commemorated annually to raise awareness about the devastating health, social and economic impacts of TB, and to urge for acceleration of efforts at various levels towards ending the global epidemic
Shorter treatment regimens for tuberculosis (TB) were associated with increased completion rates and fewer adverse events compared with traditional regimens, according to a study published in Pediatrics.
Data collection will be done in 110 clusters across all nine provinces, having begun in KwaZulu-Natal in August 2017, and is scheduled to conclude in Gauteng in November this year.
