Martha Khethiwe Booi is a 41 years old female patient who was initially diagnosed with MDR-TB but was initially lost to follow up many years ago. Mosamaria, successfully traced her to an isolated area on the way to Thaba-Nchu.

Upon arrival at the plot, Mosamaria found her staying in a single-room house without windows, with only one bed. She shared this room with her partner and her 13 year old son. She was very ill - her skin was very dry and cracking, she was dehydrated, she complained of diarrhea and she was walking very slowly because she had difficulty breathing. There was no food in the house, and they all seemed hungry. Mosamaria decided to allocate her case to the Bloemspruit Community Care Giver team who were able to visit her regularly throughout her treatment journey.  She completed her MDR-TB treatment over the course of the year and is now an active member of her community.
